You Got This!…

I was going to begin at the beginning, but you are living that right now. So, for a second, let’s jump to the end of the story—you deserve to know how this finishes.

Imagine, if you will, a time in the future when:

  • You have your health back.

  • You feel good again.

  • You’ve adjusted to the changes in your life and have your feet firmly planted on the ground.

A time after you’ve wrestled with challenges most people wouldn’t know how to face—and you’ve emerged victorious. Now imagine that all the resources you need—love, support, education, and terrific medical care—will come your way. You might not be there yet, but you will be.

Thousands of people survive cancer every single year. Often, we come out stronger, with more depth, love, appreciation, and soul in our lives than we had before.

Not Blind Optimism—Just Hope

You might think I’m saying, “Hey, it’s all going to be great! Cancer is a walk in the park!” I’m not implying that. What I’m saying is that each day of this journey, you’ll move a little further along the road to healing. It’s not always easy, but step by step, you’ll get there.

How Can We Help Each Other?

Cancer comes in many forms, with varying degrees of sickness and health. Despite these differences, we share common experiences:

  • Emotionally—the ups and downs of fear, hope, and courage.

  • Socially—the connections and isolation that come with this journey.

  • Spiritually—the search for meaning and strength.

In these shared experiences, we can find ways to support and learn from each other, making the road just a little easier.

“The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next.”
—Mignon McLaughlin

Many of us who have been on this journey wish you well.
