The Two Big Questions

Question 1: Is This My Fault?

There’s a lot of talk about how our thoughts create our reality. I used to believe this and felt incredibly guilty after my diagnosis.

“Did I give myself cancer?”
No. You didn’t.

The three major contributing factors to cancer are:

  1. Genetic background (beyond your control).

  2. Environment (also largely beyond your control).

  3. Lifestyle (where you have some influence).

It’s okay to let yourself off the hook. As Robin Williams said to Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting:

“It’s not your fault.”

Question 2: Why the Hell Did This Happen to Me?

The truth? I don’t know—and no one else can definitively tell you either.

You may never have a clear answer. That’s frustrating, I know. Many of us search for something—or someone—to blame, but sometimes, there’s no explanation. And while the lack of an answer can feel cruel, it’s a reality many of us have faced.

You’re Not Alone

Together, we’re muddling through this journey one step at a time. For those of us who’ve walked this road before, we’re rooting for you to find your way to healing and hope.
